The DVD players are sturdy and offer dozens of functions not found on OEM systems. The guts of the DVD players are clearly marked Sony. The tan head rests are well constructed and they match the leather in our Navigator. They play DVD-Rs and Video CDs with no issues. Movies can also be watched from a thumb drive or an SD card in several different digital formats. Some MP4s will play, others won't. The head phones have two channels and work perfectly with either DVD player. Video quality is surprisingly good, especially after changing the default setting of PAL to NTSC. Basic functions are on the front of the DVD player, but advanced functions require you use the remote control. The 32 BIT games are for children over 10. The 8 BIT games (optional) are old 1970-1980s arcade favorites and the younger kids love them.
Installation was easy taking about 90 minutes to do a professional level job. The pre-installed Power and Video/Audio-Out line runs down one post of the head rest while the Video/Audio-In line runs down the other post. The cables dropped through the back of the seat and were easily routed down the side of the seat and beneath the center console (comepletely out of sight). I removed the back panel of the center console where I connected the Video/Audio cables and tapped off of a cigarette lighter power cable for the 12VDC. The cables are very long giving you all kinds of cable routing options. End result was an OEM style DVD system that costs $1000 less. |

The headrests arrived about 3 days after I had placed the order. They were brand new in original packaging with no brand name of any kind on the factory box. They are well-made, sturdy and attractive. The metal posts have adjustable widths so that they would fit in a variety of seats. The instructions are very vague, but we installed them ourselves after finding out that a local car audio shop would charge $200 for professional installation. It only took us about 2 hours to install and that includes unhooking the car battery, and tucking all of the extra wires under the seats.
We removed the plastic backing off of the backs of our front seats in our Chrysler Town/Country minivan. We fed the long wires down through the seat backs and under the seat so that they came out from under the front of each seat. We removed the plastic cover off of the front console and wired both headrests into one of the power outlets in the console. Before touching any wires, we disconnected the negative terminal of the car battery. We wired the blue wire from the power outlet to both red wires from the headrests. Then we wired the black wire from the power outlet to both black wires from the headrests. We reattached the car battery and both DVD players were fully operational. We also hooked the a/v out cables from one headrest into the a/v in cables from the other headrest so that both kids can watch the same DVD. Even though there is no brand name anywhere on the headrest or unit, there is a part inside the DVD player that reads "Sony". We are very pleased with the high quality picture and overall product. |

| After reading the other reviews I felt pretty comfortable ordering this item and after using this player I can tell you the reviews are dead-on. Got it in just a few days. Installation was a breeze. As mentioned above, the power and a/v cables are routed through each of the post, it was very easy to reach up behind the back of the seat to get the cables. The a/v cables are input and output...it is NOT necessary to hook them up, only the power and ground are needed for the units to work independently. The in/out a/v's are used in case you want to watch what is one player on the other. The remote has a dvd/av button so you can switch between the dvd that is inserted in the unit or what the other unit is watching. You could also hook up anything else that had a/v (yellow, red, white) outputs. The remotes have a very short range and have to be directly aimed at the unit you want to control so you don't have to worry about someone using the remote on unit A and it affecting unit B. They will play just about anything I've put in them, even VCDs. Haven't had any luck using the usb with mp4 files yet however but not a big deal. Haven't had one skip yet and they were used on a 11 hr trip almost non-stop. They also have a zip-up cover that protects the screen when not in use. |

GREAT PRODUCT****A REAL VALUE FOR THE MONEY***
First of all ten stars to the seller(Elite Auto Sound Sales) for exceptional customer service, as he cleared some of my doubts regarding the product as soon as I contacted him. He is really helpful. I ordered this product as a Christmas Gift for my Son. It reached in time. As many other previous customers mentioned, the one and only drawback with this product is the installation tips in the Manual.
The product is even better for the money we pay. The color almost matched my vehicle's seat color. The product deserves 99% rating..and the -1% is for poor user's manual. I had to take a guess on installation. But it worked for me. So I think it will be helpful for the future buyers if I post some tips to install it easily.
Those who think of going to a shop to install this product, don't waste your money....you can do it yourself. Other than the product, you have to buy 2 more items to do a professional installation. I bought them from radio shack.
1) Buy two vehicle adapter plugs --
2) Buy a vehicle adapter splitter --
Now you can start the installation.
Look on youtube or google videos for a video showing the installation which may help you. Search for 'car dvd installation' and you will get it.
Once the cables are dropped through the hole and the headrest is fixed, connect the audio/video cable and then the power cable. Connect the ends of the power cable to the vehicle adapter plug. Do the same step for the second headrest. Now get your adapter SPLITTER and connect both plugs(with power cables attached to them) to it. Connect the splitter to the Cigarette lighter(charging point) of your car. Turn on your DVD's and enjoy the new product in your car. Don't forget to remove the thin sheet of paper inside the player before putting your disc in to it. Otherwise you will get 'NO DISC' error message.

This is my second purchase of these products, bought both Gray and Tan color. I Received these from eliteautosoundsales within 5 days from order. I'd say I'm an average car stereo installer, so I thought I'd tackle the install myself in a 2008 Ford Expedition. It took about 2 hours to install, but some of that was dismantling my center console to get to the cigarette lighter wiring in the back seat. The instructions are obviously translated from Chinese and are terrible.
Basically, you need a Hot (RED) and a ground (BLACK)and the rear cigarette lighter does the trick.
To run the wires from the headrest, I just threaded the wiring through the post holes and reached up from the bottom of the seat. There is an access hole into the fabric of the expedition, so it was easy.
Another review said the parts weren't SONY. They are if you order from eliteautosound, but not the other seller.
All in all, Nice Product and saved alot.
