user comment JVC KDG720 AM/FM/CD/MP3 Receiver w/USB Memory Slot Great Unit - Powerful Output

The unit works amazing. Fast reading data from CD and USB... no skip .. no noise while reading.

Powerfull Output, I had to change my OEM speakers . practically the unit
blew then off.

When you are playing mp3 from the USB, Forgets the last Display configuration..always starts with the track number instead of the name..

A Negative point are the small buttons to move back and forward and up and down through tracks and directories..is not big deal just dangerous.

This CD player is great! Especially the jump drive feature. I have had no problems with this product and the best part is it was a very easy install. I want to buy another and would recommend it to anyone.

This was my boyfriends Christmas present, and he loves it. He has never used the CD player. He only uses the USB Flash Drive. He just loads a his pen up with all his favorite songs, and off he goes. It's easy to use, and it sounds great. Heck, he even installed it himself. He loves it so much that he wants me to get one for my car.

user comment JVC KDG720 AM/FM/CD/MP3 Receiver w/USB Memory Slot Great Radio / ipod setup!

Review Date: January 1, 2007
Reviewer: David J. Keevil,
I only recently purchased this radio along with the JVC ipod convertor box.
I was skeptical about it because of negative or less than glowing reviews I've read on various sites on the Web.
My early impressions are that those who wrote the low rated reviews simply failed to take the time to read and comprehend the instruction manuals that come with the radio and the CD based manual that comes with the ipod convertor.
Many talk down the remote, how silly it is when the radio is only 3 few away, etc. My advice is to use it! It makes it so simple and lowers the chances of an accident due to lack of attention on the highway and a lot of attention on the radio. You can do it all by feel instead of looking at the little buttons on the radio, each button on the remote is raised and shaped to make blind use easy.
Does this JVC interface allow you to scroll through the ipod menus and search it as easily or as quickly as you can using the ipod click wheel? of course not, nothing works like the ipod click wheel and a realistic person would not expect any add on after market device to do as well as the factory click wheel. It is however a very acceptable function rate.

If you need the speed and simplicity of the click wheel function, purchase a radio with the 3.5 mm audio-in plug on the front, such as the JVC KDG420 or similar unit and use the headphone plug on the ipod with a double male 3.5 mini audio plug to the audio-in plug on the radio and you will have complete click wheel function. Problem is that you will need an auxillary ipod charger also. My beef with this set up is wires, wires and more wires.
I'm more than happy to be a little patient with the ipod to JVC interface and avoid all the wire mess except for the simple plug in my glovebox for the ipod.
In closing, go buy this unit, it is well built and JVC is so dependable based on my years of JVC use in automobiles and in the home. This unit in particular so opens up your MP3 options with the USB plug on the front plus the capability to hook up satellite radio AND the Ipod connector both through the rear connections! Yes, you can hook them both up, the reviewer who indicated you have to choose between the two, one or the other but not both is so wrong, again I say read the instructions!! There are a lot of instructions but digest it all and you won't be disappointed. If you want a better unit, be ready to spend another 200 - 300 dollars.
